Meet Lizzie Zink

Lizzie Zink is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and dedicated voice teacher who combines vocal health with artistic freedom, giving students tools they can use for a lifetime. Her teaching goes deeper than quick fixes—emphasizing healthy technique, creative exploration, and a genuine connection to music.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music with over a decade of teaching experience, Lizzie brings both academic rigor and real-world artistry to her studio. She trained under renowned vocal pedagogue Linda Balliro (author of Being a Singer: The Art, Craft, and Science), ensuring her methods are grounded in science-based vocal training.
What sets Lizzie apart is her ability to meet each student where they are and help them grow as both vocalists and creative thinkers. Her students range from total beginners to working artists, spanning all ages, experience levels, and musical styles—from musical theatre to metal, acoustic to electronic, rap to singer-songwriter. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s voice, goals, and musical interests, whether that means preparing for auditions, learning harmonies, writing original songs, building confidence, or jamming along to their favorite songs.
Her studio is a supportive, student-centered space where vocalists can explore, take risks, and grow into the most confident version of their musical self. Lizzie’s goal isn’t just to build solid technique—it’s to help students become confident, creative musicians who understand their voice and how to use it.

My son has always been pretty confident, but working with Lizzie took things to a whole new level—especially when it came to performing. He’d come out of lessons absolutely glowing, totally energized, and already looking forward to the next one.

I never felt like Lizzie tried to change my voice; she tried to enhance it. That mindset let me explore without fear. Those breath-work and tiny muscle-isolation exercises were eye-opening and helped me a ton. She helped me explore both ends of my range and blend them together. Now I can flow from one part of my voice to another much more seamlessly, and I think of her often when I’m doing something challenging onstage.

My vocal range has improved significantly. I can sing a lot higher than I used to. I can sing significantly lower than I used to be able to. And just overall, I’m not getting fatigued like I used to doing a lot of that stuff, which has been a huge game changer for me. Even my speaking voice feels better day to day. I’m not walking around with that vocal fatigue anymore. Lizzie is incredibly knowledgeable—not only on the musicality of delivering a great vocal, but additionally on the more technical and physical side of things. If you’re really wanting to improve quickly, she’s going to be able to get you there.

She became so devoted to building their confidence. By our second show together, I had kids who’d never had a lead singing difficult songs and doing well—sounding good and knowing they could do it. She wasn’t just teaching them how to use their voices or read music—she was helping them believe in themselves.

Before lessons, I could barely speak after a show. Lizzie’s positive guidance loosened my jaw, expanded my range, and gave me breath support. I can sing two rehearsals back‑to‑back, hit the high mix notes confidently, and still sound like myself—just a more powerful, controlled version that fans and bandmates immediately notice.
Gabe P., age 28
Lead Singer, Tell Me Nothing

I had never had a lead role before and was honestly freaking out, but Lizzie made me feel so supported and way more confident. She doesn’t just teach you scales and drills—she shows you how to actually sing the songs and perform them. Every week I could feel myself getting better.

What Lizzie's Students Say
Hear from students whose voices and confidence have been transformed.
artist. teacher. both, always.
Lizzie splits her time between writing, playing shows around Columbus, OH, and diving deep into the craft with her voice students. A longtime collaborator and musician in various bands and creative projects, she’s spent years immersed in the real, day-to-day work of making music: on stage, in studios, and in rehearsal rooms.
These days, she’s channeling that experience into lizzie is trying, her current alternative rock project rooted in the effort it takes to live through the beautiful chaos of being human. It’s a project that reflects the kind of artistry she encourages in her students—creative, grounded, and unafraid to be real.
The two sides of her work as artist and teacher aren’t separate; they inform one another. Because she’s in the arena herself—writing, recording, and performing regularly—she brings a level of real-world insight that goes deeper than warmups and what’s written on the page.
It’s not just technique she focuses on. She models how to prepare with intention, manage nerves, navigate creative blocks, and show up honestly onstage. Whether helping a student shape the arc of a performance, workshop a new song, or figure out what a lyric really means to them, Lizzie’s dual perspective creates space for musicians to grow not just in skill, but in self-expression.
